When my mom hiked MT. Washington they saw 4 bears right on the trail. So when i go this summer i told my mom i want to bring my pistol but she said no because it's illegal. That would suck if we hiked it and got attacked by a bear.

Right now in my book it is Donn's fourth day and he has just found a tote road. This is a good thing because Donn's feet are really cut up and he needs a nice easy walk. Tote road are good because they can lead you to a camp or town. When i read this i could picture the road really well, and i could see his face when he found it.

The part i am at in my book i am at is on the fourth day Donn was lost and he climbed up a bank and on the top there were 5 deer. He crawled over to some berries and right around the corner was a big black bear. The bear stood there for a few seconds than ran away. If that was me i would have been scared.

As i read i began to think of this summer because i am hiking the same mountain that Donn got lost on. But i am going with some people that know to the mountain so i don't think i have to worry about getting lost. I am also hiking Mt. Washington this summer so i think it will be a little more challenging, last year when my mom was hiking they saw 3 bears on the trail. So i think that would be cool.

In my book right now it is Donn's second night on the mountain and he just lost his sneakers. He has just seen what he thought was Henry standing behind a stump and his dad in the car but it was just a hallucination. If that happened to me on the mountain alone i would be wicked scared

In my book right now i'm at the part where Donn takes the wrong trail and starts walking in circles and comes back to the same spot he saw the hour before. It is already raining when Donn finds a shelter and he is soaked. Before he goes to sleep he takes off his jeans because they are wet. I think that when he wakes up he is going to have a bunch of bug bites all over his legs because they will be exposed all night.

The book i've started reading is lost on a mountain in Maine. So far it's about Donn Fendler and his family hiking Mt. Katahdin. Donn, Mr. fendler and Henry are at the summit and decide to wait for a man they see in the fog. Donn doesn't want to wait so he starts heading down but takes the wrong trail and gets lost. This relates to my life because this summer I'm hiking Mt. katahdin with my mom and my uncle.

Rascal

In this part of the book Sterling's dad takes him out into the woods for a week to try and hear a whippoorwill which are very rare in that time. Of course they bring rascal along. When Sterling, rascal, and Mr. North go exploring by the river, rascal goes down in a ravine and Sterling almost falls while climbing down to get him. After that they take a swim and rascal has his first encounter with a duck that smacks him in the head for trying to get its ducklings. From here i predict that Rascal will get into more trouble involving the river.

I think the park of the book im reading relates to the world because in the book the world war one is going on and Sterling's brother Herschel is on the front lines. And in the real world there is a war going on in Iraq.

I am reading a book called rascal, by Sterling North. It's about Sterling's life when he was a kid and had a pet raccoon named rascal. I chose this book because i have had 2 pet raccoons and i am planning on getting one in april. They make good pets and are a lot of fun to have. I think this is a good book for me and i really like it so far.
