Lost on a Mountain in Maine

In my book right now i'm at the part where Donn takes the wrong trail and starts walking in circles and comes back to the same spot he saw the hour before. It is already raining when Donn finds a shelter and he is soaked. Before he goes to sleep he takes off his jeans because they are wet. I think that when he wakes up he is going to have a bunch of bug bites all over his legs because they will be exposed all night.
