Rascal

In this part of the book Sterling's dad takes him out into the woods for a week to try and hear a whippoorwill which are very rare in that time. Of course they bring rascal along. When Sterling, rascal, and Mr. North go exploring by the river, rascal goes down in a ravine and Sterling almost falls while climbing down to get him. After that they take a swim and rascal has his first encounter with a duck that smacks him in the head for trying to get its ducklings. From here i predict that Rascal will get into more trouble involving the river.
